양민석은 1992년 전주 출생으로 Washington University in St. Louis에서 생각보다 오래 방황하다 순수미술을 전공했다. 그의 작업은 충동적이고 우연히 행해지는 간단한 스케치나 짧은 저작 활동에서 시작된다. 최근 작가는 상징의 미학과 이미지의 해석이 각 관객의 인지와 깊은 관계성을 이룬다는 사실에 흥미를 느꼈다. 이에 작가는 그가 선택한 애매한 시각적 요소들이 다의적이고 애매모호하여 ‘이상하게’ 느껴지길 바란다. 이번 전시에 그는 애매한 이미지들과 상징들이 서로 부딪혀 서로 지우고 재창조되는 동시다발적인 폭발이 만드는 공간에 관해 이야기한다.
Min Suk Yang, born in Jeonju in 1992, graduated in Washington University in St. Louis with his degree of Fine Art after a long wandering. His work begins with simple sketches or short writings done impulsively and accidentally. His recent activities show that he was interested in how the aesthetics of symbols and the interpretation of images form a deep relationship with the perception of each audience. Accordingly, he hopes that each visual element of his choice to be read obscurely and ambiguously so that the work feels strange. In this exhibition, he talks about spaces created by simultaneous explosions, as a result of the collisions between images and symbols in the canvas.
